Visa Information
Visa or a K-ETA for South Korea Entry Requirements
South Korea has implemented an electronic travel authorization system known as K-ETA, which serves as an equivalent to a visa for eligible individuals seeking a visa-free visit. To determine whether your country is included in South Korea’s visa-waiver agreement, consult the relevant sources. This authorization permits a maximum stay of a certain number of days per nationality and remains valid for up to 2 years. If you are ineligible for this authorization, you will need to apply for a visa, which may be done online (if applicable). Alternatively, you can visit the nearest South Korean consulate or diplomatic office to obtain one.
Starting February 24th, South Korea is introducing an electronic e-Arrival Card through the dedicated portal e-arrivalcard.go.kr.
Travelers will be required to complete the e-Arrival Card within 3 days of arrival. To complete the form, travelers will need to upload a copy of their passport's biographic page and provide details such as their date of arrival and departure, flight details, purpose of entry, and accommodation.
However, not all travelers need to complete this process. Residents of South Korea (including Permanent Resident Card holders and Overseas Korean Resident Card holders) and those holding a valid Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) are exempt from the e-Arrival Card requirement.
During a transition period until the end of 2025, travelers will be able to complete the e-Arrival Card online or in a paper form distributed by their airline before arrival.
